With the advent of technology, today’s consumer is blessed with multiple options to choose a mattress that suits their body and gives the best comfort. However, more choices also leave one with more confusion.

But, at Trisul you need not worry about this. As our entire business is built on educating the consumer and empowering them to make the right choice – Here goes the crisp info about various aspects which dictates your sleep comfort for you to know.

Types of best Mattress Materials

Spring

Springs are made of steel or various other metals. Spring Beds are those in which dozens to hundreds of metal springs are used to provide an underlying support layer. These mattresses also have softer plush material layers to increase comfort

There are two types of Spring mattresses.

Bonnel Spring

This is the traditional type of system used to make a spring mattress. In this the spring is in the shape of an ‘Hour glass’ i.e. the base and top are wide and the midsection is narrow,  and each spring is connected to the other through a mesh of metal to make the spring system.

Pocketed Spring Mattress

In this type, each spring is put into a fabric pocket, which helps each spring work independently from the other and therefore only that spring on which pressure is put is reacted leaving others.

Latex

Its natural form comes from the sap of a rubber tree and its potential was discovered by the company Dunlopillo in the early 1900s. After a century today we have two types of natural Latex:

  1. Dunlop and
  2. Talalay.

While Dunlop is firm and so often used for the support core in latex mattresses, Talalay is soft and hence reserved for top comfort layers.  However, both can be engineered to a variety of firmness levels

Latex foam brands

Memory Foam

Memory foam is a synthesized man-made product out of PU Foam having viscoelastic properties. Mattresses made out of memory foam use a person’s body heat to soften and mould to their body shape helping to get remarkable support and comfort.

PU Foam

Also known as Polyfoam which is made from polyurethane and petroleum compounds, the other products used to make PU foam are polyol and isocyanates. This is one of the least comfortable types of mattresses and has one of the shortest lifetimes. These are generally used in making sofas and mattress toppers.

PU Foam brands

Coir

Once the glory of India, they are made from coconut fibre which is also known as coir. These mattresses are also known as rubberized coir.  These mattresses are not comfort-oriented but rather provide a firm surface. In the 1990s these are the best solution available on the market to the people with back pain while today there are multiple options to support the vertebrae.

Coir brands

Hybrid

We can call this ‘need of the day’. The name itself indicates they are hybrid in variety, as it is not just made of a single ingredient. They can be a combination of Spring plus latex or Spring plus Memory. Latex plus coir or Coir with High Resilience (HR) foam. The combinations are endless and can be customized as per customer needs.
